The Association of Intercultural Communities from Oradea, in partnership with the Association “Miskolc és Kornyéke Fiataljaiért” Miskolc, implemented in the period of 10-18 September 2011 in Baile 1 Mai, Bihor county, the project “Alternative Energy Resources in Europe”. The project is funded by the European Commission under the Youth in Action Program, type 1.1. Youth Exchange.
The project theme was alternative energy in Europe.
10 young people participated in the project from Romania and 10 from Hungary aged between 18 and 25  years.
Program activities included: round table discussions, presentations, workshops, energizers, intercultural evenings, team building activities, debate, and free time activities. These activities were implemented through methods and techniques of non-formal education.


The project objectives were:
1. Raising awareness in young people about the existence of alternative energies, energies that cause less damage to the environment and that we will be forced to use it as an alternative to traditional energy resources.
2. Raising awareness in young people about the importance of preserving a clean environment to prevent future environmental problems.
3. Increasing the awareness in young people attending the Youth Exchange regarding cultures, traditions and stimulate them to live together in a multicultural Europe without prejudice towards each other.
The program was attended by two guests who have introduced the topic of alternative energy in two ways completely different, namely the sociological point of view through the eyes of university lecturer Székedi Levente, and in terms of European projects represented by consultant of European projects, Andris Nilgesz.
